AI is no longer just a technology conversation.
It is a leadership conversation.
A culture conversation.
A change conversation.
That’s why I’m excited to be leading the pre-conference workshop for the CultureCon AI Summit 2026, happening April 21–23, 2026 in Madison, Wisconsin and virtual. CultureCon describes this inaugural summit as a human-centered gathering focused on how artificial intelligence is reshaping the future of work and how leaders can help design what comes next.

A deeply human AI workshop
Even though this is an AI Summit, this session is deeply human.
Before the main conference even begins, we’ll bring together leaders, culture champions, innovators, HR professionals, facilitators, strategists, and change agents into one room to:
connect with thoughtful people
surface real AI challenges happening inside organizations
explore practical opportunities for AI adoption
build useful tools together
enter the conference already energized, grounded, and connected
That human-centered focus is exactly what makes this pre-conference session different. The workshop page emphasizes that many AI sessions focus mainly on the technology, while this session centers on people, relationships, mindsets, and the collaborative muscles needed to guide AI-driven change.
AI adoption is a leadership challenge
A lot of organizations are still treating AI as a tools conversation.
But in reality, the biggest questions are often things like:
How do we help people actually adopt AI?
How do we move from hype to behavior change?
How do we assess AI readiness inside our culture?
How do we lead transformation without overwhelming people?
How do we create momentum without losing trust, clarity, or connection?
These are leadership questions.
They are also design questions.
That’s why this workshop takes a human-centered design thinking approach to AI adoption and change leadership. We will work on real challenges, share real examples, and co-create ideas that participants can bring back into their own organizations.
What we’ll explore together
This session is designed to help participants do more than just talk about AI.
We’ll explore how to:
understand the people side of change
strengthen AI readiness and adaptability
generate practical experiments and action steps
connect with peers facing similar leadership challenges
identify barriers to AI adoption across teams and cultures
- build momentum before the full summit begins
CultureCon’s pre-conference page describes the experience as a way to exchange real-world challenges, co-design solutions, and build the confidence and competence needed to guide people through rapid AI-driven change without losing the culture that helps them thrive.
Practical, collaborative, and experimental
This won’t be a theoretical session.
It will be practical.
Collaborative.
Experimental.
Human.
I’ll also be sharing — and possibly even building live — tools connected to this work, including ideas related to my AI Change Leadership Toolkit, which includes frameworks such as an AI Change Readiness Assessment, ADKAR, Kotter’s 8-Step model, Bridges’ Transition Model, Motivational Interviewing for AI Change, and more.
That means participants won’t just leave with inspiration. They’ll leave with frameworks, language, tools, and new relationships they can actually use.
Why attend the pre-conference workshop?
One of the best parts of a strong pre-conference workshop is that it changes the rest of the conference.
You don’t walk in cold.
You arrive already connected to other thoughtful people. You’ve already surfaced key challenges. You’ve already started building ideas and language for the conversations ahead. You’re more ready to absorb, reflect, contribute, and lead.
That is one reason I’ve loved being part of the CultureCon community over the years. InnovationTraining.org has featured CultureCon multiple times and highlighted the value of these pre-conference experiences as a space where leaders from different organizations can come together to learn from each other and tackle meaningful challenges.
